Dublin City Council, IE works with neighboring councils to test smart ring buoy technologies
Dublin City Council, IE Smart Ring Buoy Technologies
Dublin City Council experiences 600 ring buoy thefts each year that imperil residents near waterways. The city and nearby councils are undertaking a nine-month pilot of four smart buoy technologies to determine their effectiveness in deterring thefts. Smart buoys alert authorities immediately after thefts and indicate maintenance needs. Successful technologies will proceed to a second pilot before potential nationwide deployment.
