Bath & North East Somerset Council, GB strives for more food waste recycling with Keynsham pilot
Bath & North East Somerset Council, GB Keynsham Waste Pilot
Council leaders and GENeco selected 229 households to participate in the six-week pilot. Each household received a kitchen caddy and a bin to enable curbside collection. Participants also learn how food waste turns into electricity through informational mailers. An uptick in recycling by participants could lead to an expanded pilot in 2021. Bath & North East Somerset Council developed the pilot to divert food waste that forms 30% of waste bin contents.
