The Fostering PLUS Carer Scheme creates welcoming environments for children with multi-faceted needs. Eligible parents can dedicate themselves full-time to the role and possess experience in education or care jobs. Derby City Council provides ongoing training in parenting strategies and access to a support system including dedicated social workers. Fostering PLUS carers receive up to £40,000 and four weeks of paid respite time per year.
