Manchester City Council, GB Wythenshawe Forum Solar Project
The community venue features a rooftop solar installation that cuts energy costs by £50,000 per year. The installation paired with a LED light conversion project reduces energy consumption by 70 percent and annual emissions by 121 tons. Manchester City Council is completing similar projects at eight other facilities that will reduce emissions by 1,600 tons per year. Wythenshaw Forum and future solar projects help the city reach the goal of carbon-free operations by 2038.
