Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University students and faculty will develop the technology. AI-powered cameras will be calibrated during simulated littering incidents on both campuses. Prototypes of the smart enforcement system are slated for trials at hotspots on the city's East and West sides. Local enforcement officers will receive automated alerts about dumping incidents and use high-quality footage during their investigations.
