Rockhampton, QLD advances solar installation at water treatment plant to cut costs for clean water
Rockhampton, QLD Solar Installation Water Treatment Plant
The 1.3-megawatt installation will supply power to the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant. Solgen Energy is using 3,042 double-sided panels to maximize solar energy capture for the facility. The surface underneath the panels is made with recycled glass to reflect light back to the panels. Council officials approved a project plan with space for additional panels in the future. Rockhampton will reduce annual energy costs by up to $500,000 AUD once the installation is complete.
