The two-year Allergy Technologies Affordable Housing Control (ATAHC) pilot took a proactive approach to bed bugs. A 460-unit Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) building received a room-by-room screening and extermination of existing bed bugs. Each unit was equipped with preventative measures like interceptors, bed liners, and desiccant silica gel dust. Residents were reassured about stigmas and eviction concerns during training sessions with a pest management expert.
