Baltimore, MD Police Department proposes controversial plan to use private surveillance planes
Baltimore, MD private surveillance planes proposal
The Baltimore Police Department is partnering with Persistent Surveillance Systems on a controversial proposal to operate private surveillance planes. If approved, this pilot program would allow police to fly three private surveillance planes over the city. These planes would act as surveillance tools from 8,500 feet in the air to assist police with violent crimes investigations. The pilot program is designed to last four to six months before analysis reveals if the planes were in fact useful.
