Darwin, NT Neuron E-Scooter Pilot High-Traffic
The one-year pilot started with 11 stations in the Central Business District, Cullen Bay, and the Waterfront Precinct. Visitors and residents use the Neuron Mobility app to unlock the 250-scooter fleet. Each ride costs $0.38 AUD per minute after a $1 AUD unlock fee. Neuron e-scooters are limited to 15 kilometers per hour and cannot leave the geofenced pilot areas. Darwin officials established go-slow zones in crowded areas with speed limits of 12 km/h.

Project Succeeded
The program's first six months saw one-third of e-scooter rides used for work commutes. Darwin officials approved a one-year expansion of the pilot with 150 additional e-scooters and 150 e-bikes in November 2020.
