Lincoln, NE expands VANLNK on-demand transit pilot to address COVID-19 bus shortages

Lincoln, NE VANLNK On-Demand Transit Pilot COVID-19

In Progress

VANLNK allows transit users in Lincoln to request van trips anywhere in the city for $5 US per trip. The VANLNK app assigns the nearest driver based on pickup location with services offered Monday through Saturday. City officials originally designed the pilot for disabled and senior riders who may not be served well by traditional bus routes. The program broadened to all residents during the pandemic with a two-passenger limit per van.
