Portland, OR improved COVID-19 messaging with online testing
The City of Portland partnered with the Behavioral Insights Team to improve COVID-19 messaging with randomized controlled trials. The goal was to create a poster for local grocery stores which encouraged shoppers to maintain six-feet of social distancing. The City designed multiple versions of the poster which were rapidly tested online by the Behavioral Insights Team's Predictiv platform. The testing determined which was most memorable and convincing so it could be promoted throughout the city.
