The City of Atlanta approved a new short-term rental ordinance to reduce neighborhood disruptions. The ordinance requires that renters apply for a permit from the Department of Planning and Community Development and pay a non-refundable $150 application fee. Additionally, owners will now be held financially responsible for any violations committed at their homes with a penalty of $300 per violation. Three violations at the same property results in a one-year ban for short-term rentals.
