The council offers 50 plug-in vans for short-term lease by companies and nonprofits. Each lease lasts up to three months with insurance covered by the council. Participants can request the free installation of an EV charger for the duration of the pilot. Derby City Council will survey participants on how the vehicles perform on local roads and motorways. This program readies businesses for a national ban on carbon-emitting vehicle sales by 2030.
