A NatSales FinBin was installed in the Lesmurdie Falls parking lot for a six-week trial. The solar-powered bin compacts waste and holds as much as seven times the material as standard bins. Sensors within the bin assess fill level and alert Waste Services staff when collection is necessary. Council officials will use pilot data to determine the potential effectiveness of smart bins and assess collection needs.
