Kent County Council, GB enhances roadwork evaluations with air-and-ground technology pilots
Kent County Council, GB Roadwork Evaluation Air Ground Pilot
Kent County Council conducted three drone flights over local roads to locate potholes. The Amey drone relies on onboard sensors to evaluate pothole size. A concurrent three-month pilot uses cameras on council trucks and vans to further investigate potholes. Council officials compare data from these pilots with monthly road inspections to determine future technology adoption. These trials are part of the ADEPT Smart Places Live Labs initiative.
