Limerick City and County Council, IE +CityxChange Smart Tech

In Progress

Limerick's Georgian Quarter will be used as a smart city testbed powered by renewable energy. The project includes a tidal turbine in the River Shannon, thermal footage from drones, and a carbon credit trading scheme for quarter businesses. Five placemaking projects were selected by officials to re-envision the area's laneways. These projects bring 3D-printed art pieces, edible hanging vegetation, and photo walls to revitalized streets.
