The City of Mascouche invites its residents to vote for an upcoming project online as part of the annual participatory budget. Whichever project, from the city-approved list, receives the most votes is approved by the municipal council. Residents that do not have internet access can vote using an interactive terminal which the City installed at the local library.
Project Succeeded
In 2018, more than 1,200 residents voted in the participatory budget process. The project that received the most votes was the installation of a fast-charging station and subsidies for charging stations for home use. An amount of $25,000 was awarded in grants for the installation of domestic charging stations to 83 citizens in 2019.
