Neath Port Talbot are testing IoT solutions to climate challenges as part of its Decarbonisation and Renewable Energy Strategy. Borough leaders and Welsh firm Vortex IoT plan 70 climate sensors for lightposts throughout Port Talbot. Sensors send real-time temperature and particulate data to a council dashboard on a Vortex IoT wireless network. Air quality data overlayed with traffic and development data identify sources of pollutants for neighborhood-level interventions.
