San Diego, CA Slow Streets COVID-19 Outbreak
City officials closed 2.5 miles of streets to vehicle traffic so that pedestrians and cyclists can comply with physical distancing requirements. The city replaced crosswalk buttons with buttons featuring more surface area to encourage elbow and forearm activation. Crosswalk signal cycles have been adjusted to prevent crowds from waiting for walk signs.
