Washington, DC expands micromobility options through Lime e-moped pilot

Washington, DC Lime E-Moped Pilot Micromobility

Planning

Lime announced plans to deploy 600 e-mopeds across the district in March 2021. Each e-moped includes two helmets and travels up to 28 miles per hour. Rider safeguards like required selfies and infrared sensors in storage compartments ensure helmet use. Lime will provide free 45-minute driving lessons for residents who are new to moped use. Washington, DC will be joined by Paris as the company's first testbeds for e-moped use.
