Montreal, QC Sustainable Subsidies Climate Challenges

Residents of Saint-Laurent - Montreal's largest suburb - offset the costs of eco-friendly hygiene products with subsidies. This program covers 50% of the costs of washable underwear, diapers, and feminine hygiene products up to $75 CAD per person. Montreal and project partner VertCité are also covering 50% of the costs of emergency kits up to $125 CAD per person. This program reduces landfill waste and prepares residents for weather emergencies exacerbated by climate change.
