Nissewaard, ZH Benefit Recipient Cohabitation Trial Program

The current policy reduces or terminates benefits for recipients switching from single to cohabiting status. Nissewaard approved a pilot maintaining benefit levels received by approved participants for up to three months. The cohabitation program requires advanced notice to the council and separate residences without sublets during the three-month period. This pilot helps couples determine if they wish to live together without penalty and frees housing for other residents.
