Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, GB TRAILAR Impacts
Stockport and Totally Local Company are experimenting with TRAILAR on six refuse trucks. TRAILAR powers onboard systems with electricity from rooftop solar panels. This process reduces the amount of fuel needed for waste loading and compacting. TRAILAR achieves annual savings of 400 liters of fuel and 1,000 kilograms of emissions per vehicle. Project leaders monitor vehicle alternator usage, battery levels, and solar energy generation with TRAILAR's telematics platform.
