Corpus Christi, TX is requiring short-term rental property owners to register for an annual permit
The Corpus Christi City Council passed an ordinance requiring short-term rental property owners to register for an annual permit and pay a $50 fee per year. The city officially defines a short term rental as a residential dwelling that rents out fewer than 30 days and not less than 12 hours. The new requirement was designed to help the city enforce safety/health regulations while also preventing single-family homes from being used as short-term rental properties.

Corpus Christi, TX is planning to protect the marina from hurricanes with a concrete floating dock
The Corpus Christi City Council unanimously approved $14.2 million in sales tax funding for the marina renovation budget. By implementing newer technology the marina will be protected against deterioration from hurricanes. Approximately five docks and 200 boat slips will be replaced with a concrete, floating dock system which has a 50 year lifespan double the lifespan of the current system. The city is preparing a request for proposal for a firm to design and build the pier replacements.
