Kangaroo Island, SA engages community on climate change with Coastal Hazard Mapping Project
The council worked with Seed Consulting to identify shorelines at risk of significant erosion. Local residents selected as Project Champions communicated project steps to the community. Project Champions also amplified surveys and workshops that sought feedback on potential solutions to coastal erosion. The resulting Online Mapping Tool shows at-risk areas for erosion and inundation based on 2018 data as well as projections for 2050 and 2100.
