Mesa, AZ Streetlight Dimming Project Light Pollution

Mesa's replacement of sodium vapor lights with LED bulbs opens the possibility for targeted dimming. The city council considered a $17 million plan to dim lights up to 45% at night using smart control nodes. LED streetlights are further adapted to localized lighting needs with amber bulbs and shields that funnel light toward streets.
