San Rafael, CA Streamlined Residential Design Review Pilot

A three-member subcommittee reviews applications to bypass the full Design Review Board. Eligible projects include new residential developments and additions with up to 10 units. The minor environmental review path requires zoning administrator approval and public feedback. Major review candidates receive hearings before a joint committee that would otherwise require at least two meetings. San Rafael will run the pilot until at least five reviews are completed.
