Boulder, CO studies the future of loading zones with its curbside management pilot project
The city designated nine Flexible Loading Zones (FLZ) in the high-traffic downtown and University Hill districts. FLZs were created from existing loading zones with different time limitations and marked with Curbside Loading Only signs. Local officials agreed to a one-year pilot of Lime e-scooters on Boulder's east side. University of Colorado Boulder students and local residents can access 200 e-scooters near popular stops. Lime includes a low-speed Training Mode on all scooters for safe operation. The program also expands a previous bike-sharing initiative through a partnership with BCycle. Forty bike-sharing stations store e-bikes accessible by the BCycle app for inexpensive commutes.
