Hutt City Council is the first in New Zealand to include building performance information on properties' Land Information Memoranda. Property owners are given the option of having the property's performance certified following an official assessment of its health, warmth, and efficiency. This new policy was designed to improve community health and the energy performance of city housing by providing residents the ability to make informed housing decisions.
