City officials approved a $150,000 AUD fund for incentives to consumers who buy local. Each purchase of $50 AUD or more from a Whittlesea business is eligible for a 25% rebate. It's All Here incentives are available while funding lasts with a $100 AUD maximum rebate per person. The program's website shows the percentages of available and paid incentives. Whittlesea placed sensors on garbage cans and city vehicles to track the usage of public assets. Eight air quality monitors and five water level sensors provided glimpses of environmental conditions. Twenty-one sensors placed in high-traffic areas counted pedestrians for improved traffic management policies. The city council worked with La Trobe University, RMIT University, and neighboring cities to analyze data for future action.
