Jersey City, NJ improves access to healthy food with Vertical Farming Program
Jersey City, NJ Vertical Farming Program Food Access
The city's Department of Health and Human Services and AeroFarms will add compact indoor farms to 10 locations. Selected schools, senior centers, and public housing communities will combine produce access with health education. Residents enjoy free access to fruits and vegetables from the farms after completing five workshops on healthy eating. Jersey City will also offer free health screenings every six months to track the impacts of improved diets.
