Devon County Council, GB Shared Saving Waste Collection
The scheme coordinates waste collection efforts across five district councils. This coordination includes weekly food waste and garden waste collections along with expanded recycling programs. Devon County Council distributes savings from streamlined collections and reduced treatment to the councils for reinvestment. The Shared Saving Scheme has led to a 6% reduction in waste volumes and 6.8 million pounds in savings.
