City officials want to increase biodiversity through wild lawns and green spaces that attract bees, insects, and animals. The Hvidovre Blomstereng seed mix includes flowers like bibernelle and golden lacquer that grow well in Denmark. Residents and business owners can pick up free mix bags at libraries to plant on their properties. Hvidovre has already planted bee-friendly flowers on one hectare of public land and offered discounts on flower purchases.

Hvidovre, DK opens its Assistive Technology Center for personalized service to residents
Hvivdovre residents in need of new or adjusted assistive devices make appointments with the center. On-site therapists work with patrons to identify life-improving aids ranging from bath benches to adaptive cutlery. The Assistive Technology Center allows residents to test products and receive fittings without waiting for appointments with their doctors. The center is open two days a week and staff will bring their services to local care facilities during weekly visits.
