Leduc, AB Hens and Bees Pilot Program Resiliency

Leduc is seeking five single-family households each to raise hens and bees in their backyards. Each applicant's neighbors are engaged for permission prior to acceptance. An online training session discusses program rules and tips with participants. The two-year pilot encourages personal food production and active lifestyles. City leaders also view the program as a way to cut carbon emissions from large-scale food production and transportation.
