London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, GB adds CityTree natural filter to downtown square
Borough officials installed the CityTree on Lyric Square in Hammersmith. This eight-panel filter uses multiple types of moss to absorb air filled with exhaust particulates. CityTree emits filtered oxygen that reduces air pollution for nearby pedestrians. The filter lowers surrounding air temperatures by up to 2.5 degrees Celsius and stores up to 53% of fine dust. Green City Solutions can upgrade CityTree for charging stations, public seating, and sensors.
