The cities of St Paul and Minneapolis are discussing the creation of joint bike-share and scooter-share programs that will allow riders to cross city boundaries. Currently the vehicles are automatically disabled when they cross the vendors programming area.

The city council approved an 18-month pilot that pays $500 per month to 150 selected families. The participating families were selected from the CollegeBound Saint Paul college savings program. Participants also demonstrated financial impacts from COVID-19 prior to selection. Pilot payments are supplied through dedicated debit cards for use without limitations. The city and its project partners will also deposit $10 per month in each recipient's CollegeBound account.
