Trois-RiviËres, QC Delivery Vehicles Smart Traffic Pilot

The city will equip 14 traffic lights over a 4-kilometer stretch of roads with smart devices. Delivery vehicles outfitted with transmitters will communicate with the lights once the pilot starts in 2022. The network turns lights green once it detects transmitters to keep vehicles moving. Municipal officials are evaluating if congestion and emissions impacts from reductions to stop-start traffic warrant an expanded network.
