Wien (Vienna), WIE partners with Munich on climate-friendly geothermal urban energy supply agreement
The cities of Vienna and Munich, alongside their municipal energy providers, are partnering on a geothermal and digitization initiative as part of a climate-friendly energy agreement. Their common goal is to make their urban energy supplies more autonomous, independent, and sustainable. The agreement states that both provincial capitals will engage in close cooperation at an operational and political-strategic level in regards to the areas of mobility, technology, energy supply, and renovation.

Wien, WIE partnered with Siemens Mobility to develop a new digital passenger wayfinding system
The city of Wien's public transit network, Wiener Linien, partnered with Siemens Mobility to develop "Fahrgastinfo Plus" a new digital passenger information and wayfinding system. The system displays dynamic visual information for passengers via screens above all vehicle doors inside the X-Wagen train. The screens display a digital network plan which includes the train's current location, the respective direction of travel, the next stop, and important transfer options.

Wein, WIE launched a monoclonal antibody infusion COVID-19 treatment pilot for high-risk patients
The City of Vienna's Health Service launched a COVID therapy pilot using monoclonal antibodies for high-risk patients at the Klinik Favoriten of the Vienna Health Association. The pilot involves administering the approved active ingredient Sotrovimab, brand name Xevudy®, to significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization for high-risk COVID patients. During the pilot, patient eligibility is determined on the basis of risk factors and individual medical advice.

Wien (Vienna), WIE partners with Kapsch TrafficCom to develop traffic light timing mobile app
The city of Vienna is partnering with Kapsch TrafficCom to deploy the new "Traffic Management 2.0" system. The system includes a set of measures designed to promote "future-oriented" climate-friendly transportation development. The first measure is the Grüne Welle Wien mobile app which shows users how long a traffic light will remain red or how the amount of speed needed to reach the next green light. The app was designed to reduce traffic and allow for fuel-efficient and less stressful travel.

Wien, WIE publishes full version of all City Audit Office reports online to maintain transparency
The Wien City Audit Office regularly conducts audits the financial management and facility safety of around 320 institutions. In order to maintain the highest possible level of transparency, the full version of every audit report is published on the City Audit Office's website and any reports generated since 2001 offer a full-text search function. The website also provides an overview of the auditor's requests, meeting minutes, committee members, and status of any implemented recommendations.

Wien, WIE converted discarded containers into mobile bike storage facilities for city events
The city of Wien's Waste Management, Street Cleaning, and Vehicle Fleet Department converted discarded containers into mobile bike storage facilities. The mobile racks made from recycled materials create a central parking space for up to 20 bicycles at any location. The mobile racks provide a safe, stable, and highly visible place for temporary bicycle parking. The mobile racks can be booked for events at which the department will provide any necessary cleaning and maintenance work.

The city of Wein created an online whistleblower platform that enables users to submit anonymous information about suspected legal violations. The platform was designed for municipal employees or anyone who partners with the city of Wein. Information can be voluntarily submitted on suspected cases of corruption, economic crimes, and serious compliance violations.
