Breda, NB GreenQuays Pilot Improved Riverfront Resiliency

Breda and seven project partners are evaluating approaches to greening a 175-meter section of River Mark quay. Different masonry techniques that allow for the growth of moss, flowers, and trees have been installed in the pilot area. The GreenQuays project also experiments with drainage systems and design features that attract native species. A successful pilot would lead to replication at quays elsewhere on the river and increase biodiversity in the city center.
