Lancashire County Council, GB Family Safeguarding Service

The service deploys 21 interdisciplinary teams to help families with histories of drug abuse and domestic violence. Social workers, therapists, and domestic abuse experts collaborate within teams for long-term solutions to abusive behaviors. Parents are taught how to avoid harmful actions and addictions using motivational interviewing techniques. The Family Safeguarding Service keeps children with their parents when possible to prevent negative impacts of counseling.
