North Lanarkshire Council, GB refurbishes residential towers for Ukrainian refugee accommodations
North Lanarkshire Council, GB Ukrainian Refugee Towers
Council towers slated for demolition in Coatbridge and Wishaw were reactivated after six weeks of repairs. Two hundred units meet safety requirements and provide welcoming accommodations. Ukrainian refugees stay at local hotels as they wait for housing placements. On-site service providers offer assistance and guidance as refugees move from hotels to apartments. The project assists the Scottish Government with its goal of housing 4,500 refugees.
