The project received an Envision Platinum Rating from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. This 18-million-gallon facility helps balance the amount of ammonia-nitrogen that goes into AlexRenew’s biological reactor basins. Some key features include a regulation-size athletic field located on top of the process tanks, connections to bike and pedestrian paths, restoration of a brownfield, and new vegetation where there had been 143,000 square feet of asphalt.
