Toronto, ON Deep Retrofit Challenge Buildings Emission
Applicants submit their plans for residential and commercial retrofits for the competition. A panel of energy experts and architects evaluates the feasibility of proposed designs. Eligible projects have to cut emissions and reductions by at least 50% through a whole-building approach. Challenge winners receive grants for 25% of retrofit costs up to $500,000 CAD. City officials anticipate annual emission reductions of 1,750 tons based on 16 selected projects.
