Norfolk, VA created the Flood Risk Learning Center tool to help residents protect their homes
The City of Norfolk's Office of Resilience partnered with Civis Analytics to create the Flood Risk Learning Center tool to help residents protect their homes. The online tool allows renters and homeowners to view information on their chances of experiencing a flood and the potential severity of the flooding. The tool also suggests mitigations that residents can take to lower flood insurance premiums and reduce potential damage such as relocating crawl space utilities and filling in basements.
