Wagga Wagga, NSW trials plastic mesh reinforcement technology during road rehabilitation process
The Wagga Wagga City Council has approved the use of Geogrid reinforcement technology in the rehabilitation of several roads as part of its program of major civil works currently underway. The Council has been looking for innovative construction options to improve the road rehabilitation process, and the goal of the Geogrid is to minimize cracking in the wearing course due to environmental factors such as seasonal temperature fluctuations and the stabilization of the gravel in the pavement.

Wagga Wagga, NSW aims at roots of domestic violence with We Do Respect engagement campaign
We Do Respect asks local residents to use the campaign name when encountering disrespectful words and acts throughout their lives. Fifteen community ambassadors including police, athletes, and business owners recorded videos to reinforce this message. Wagga Wagga developed social media assets for the campaign including suggested posts and profile photo frames. This effort supports the domestic violence reduction goals of theDVproject:2650 program.

Wagga Wagga, NSW develops procurement education initiative after adding VendorPanel portal
The council created a survey for local businesses curious about VendorPanel and public procurement policies. This survey asks for preferred training media, times, and topics along with respondent concerns about procurement. Wagga Wagga will use survey responses to craft training options ranging from self-paced videos to virtual group courses. The education initiative will reduce barriers to doing business with the council and increase participation in VendorPanel.
