The city partnered with Tasmanian state officials and RACT to operate a driverless electric bus (DEB) in the Sandy Bay suburb. The NAVYA Autonom Shuttle used 3D modeling and onboard cameras to complete the city-approved route while operating safely around vehicles and pedestrians. Hobart officials see the potential for DEBs to fill gaps in public transit in the future.
