The Hounslow Highways Tree Team tested the all-electric chipper during a two-week trial. The chipper was permanently added after observing no performance differences with gas-powered equivalents. An electric chipper cuts down on loud noises, fuel costs, and maintenance needs. Tree Team members also found the chipper easier to transport with a low overall weight. Hounslow is the first local government in the United Kingdom to incorporate an electric chipper into its maintenance fleet.
