Tucson, AZ recycling bin monitoring program

The City of Tucson launched the eight-week "Feet on the Street" program to monitor recycling bins for prohibited materials. The program involves sending inspectors to three recycling routes a day monitoring over 24,000 homes on four sperate occasions. Whenever inspectors discover restricted items in a recycling bin it will be marked with an "oops tag" and after four tags the recycling bin will be confiscated by the city.
