Guelph, ON and Esri Canada design an emergency services database for Next Generation 9-1-1 system
The partnership received a federal grant for developing and testing a database for the updated nationwide 9-1-1 system taking effect in 2025. Guelph and Esri Canada will also create GIS applications for real-time updates to emergency services systems. These innovations follow the NENA NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model, which defines the map layers necessary for accurate emergency dispatch. The city will test the database in real-world situations so that it is ready for use by other municipalities.

Guelph, ON adopts eleven-x smart parking technology for improved enforcement and planning
Guelph and eleven-x plan implementation of the eXactpark system across two stages. The initial stage adds SPS-X sensors to 250 downtown parking spaces with another 1,750 spaces connected during the second stage. SPS-X sensor data on vehicle occupancy of public parking spaces feed into the eXactpark platform. City officials will use parking data for enforcement of its two-hour free parking initiative and more precise allocation of resources to parking services.
