The Mount Vernon Police Department (MVPD) is launching an innovative new Wellness and Community Affairs Division to create diversionary initiatives and provide support to vulnerable communities. The division will consist of crisis-intervention officers, licensed clinicians, and case management specialists. The new precinct will address the root causes of violence, addiction, and trauma through a comprehensive model of violence prevention, intervention, and restorative justice.

The City of Mount Vernon is using Tolemi's BuildingBlocks to proactively identify and catalog "zombie" homes vacated in the middle of the foreclosure process. The Owner Profile consolidated the history of bank-foreclosed properties across departmental systems including outstanding taxes, code violations, permits, and public safety incidents. The Owner Profile helped the city discover and monitor poorly maintained properties with unpermitted renovations.
